PEP GUARDIOLA has backed two of the front-runners for the Arsenal job to take over in the summer.

Guardiola praises Luis Enrique and Arteta amid Arsenal link

The Manchester City boss will be coming up against a new manager when he takes his side to the Emirates next season as Arsene Wenger prepares to call time on his 22-year tenure in the summer.

Since making the announcement, speculation has been rife as to who would replace the Frenchman.

Mikel Arteta is one of the names being touted by bookmakers.

And Guardiola has backed his current assistant at the Etihad to be successful if appointed in north London.

"I'm not the right guy to talk about that because my opinion about Mikel is overwhelming," he told reporters.

Of course, Luis Enrique and Mikel deserve all the best and all they want

"He deserves the best.

"We are so comfortable working with him.

"One of the reasons for our success this season is because Mikel is here."

But former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique, who used to play alongside Guardiola at the Catalan outfit, is the bookmakers' favourite to be offered the Arsenal job.
